Miami Blvd Residential

This project documents the multi-year design and construction of my personal residence and garden, and represents my most complete body of work. Initial concepts explored a greenhouse, edible gardens, lawn, composting, and small refuge spaces, but the final design evolved in response to site constraints, including poor soils, construction debris, invasive vegetation, and failing trees. Through iterative design, hands-on construction, and material reuse, the landscape was refined to strike a balance between function, sun exposure, minimal grading, and realistic maintenance. The project shaped my understanding of residential landscapes as lived systems, defined by microclimates, incremental decisions, and the long-term value they create through use, growth, and adaptation.
